Day Twenty: You Can Do Something Isn’t Enough To Be Called Your Calling

Hi guys, your baby girl is back with another Ted talk for my cuties. Guess what, am gonna make this really quick. You know, breeze in breeze out kinda thing so let’s get to it.

Obviously, am gonna start with myself down to the experiences I’ve had so far. If you follow me on my socials media platforms you would know am a lady with many talents. However, I would love to explore all those talents of mine as I journey into this lifelong mission. And currently, am into writing(storytelling & Education), content creation(Blogging &Vlogging), Fashion designing (Business Marketing & Cultural lifestyle) and am yet to explore other interest of mine. So does it happen to some other people, trying out different aspects of their career due to interest or they want to make extra cash right?

Now, here’s the gist. I don’t have any problem with creating more streams of income for yourself, in fact I have been an advocate for having different sources of income since I started my career talk so making that move isn’t my problem, it means you’re keeping your reality check. Where the issues lie is the way you handle what you’re offering to the world or to your clients. The same way we complain about the government and the politicians for not delivering in their jobs neither are they holding on to their words. Is the same way we’re complaining about everybody’s business for coming short of expectations.

I believe criticism do help in curbing situations like this but now we’ve lost it. Most people don’t listen to their clients because they don’t want to take responsibility for their actions like not being specific or detailed in what they do. For example when you tell a woman who’s seeking to conceive that you’re selling a fertility product that can help her put to birth without explaining to her that this would work if both partner are fertile and not just her…

The same way it goes for someone who’s hosting an online class on how to write a book without being specific to their students that the class is strictly for writing and doesn’t involve creating book covers, publishing guidelines or sales pitches for a book, which goes on and on for whatever aspect involved in what you’re doing regardless.

Let’s all learn to grow. I believe that’s the least we can do for trying to explore or do things out of we need some extra cash cause WTF is all this rubbish. That you can do something doesn’t mean that’s your calling when you’re barely giving us the minimum and this is what differentiates someone who’s called to do the job or not.

Please let’s not make life more difficult than it’s already.

That’s all for now

Bye

Day Nineteen: Clarity Shouldn’t Be Underestimated In Any Leadership Position

Hi guys, your baby girl is back with another juicy gist for us. You know, what’s up what’s up people. It’s time to take you on a ride to have a peak on what’s popping in my life.

First, I want to give you a short story that relates to what am about to say. A colleague of mine was asking another colleague of mine if they are friends. Honestly, when I first heard the question from her. I laughed and felt how could she even think of asking that to someone she has been close to for  awhile. But she said, you’ll never know. She can be thinking they’re friends while the feeling isn’t mutual so she needed to be sure. Fine, I got the point and I was like. Yea, it’s true oo. You  fit Dey relationship with person May the person no Dey there with you.

That being said, clarity isn’t a bad thing at all no matter how stupid it may sound. It’s better saved than being lost especially for things that can’t be fixed if it happens to go bad. And I feel this goes to every aspect of our lives cause clarity will save you from a lot of troubles.

Honestly, I don’t know why people underestimate the power of communication cause this thing can mar or make you. If you pay attention to public figures you would notice that they don’t joke with PR in order not be misunderstood. So the end point is clarity, passing a message in a way that you can heard for what you actually meant right?

Now back to me, my colleagues find it funny sometimes when I ask questions. They feel I ask unnecessary questions like: you ask me to help you get something and I would be like: ok, this..( then repeat what I think I heard) so because of that it kinda affects every other question I ask whether unnecessary or not if you understand what I mean.

This got me thinking to know what the problem was…could it be because of my ear issues (find it difficult to hear sometimes) which I never told them. You know, it’s uncomfortable to always tell people about stuff like this and I don’t usually like to talk about it either. For me, having to ask questions like that is for confirmatory purposes and not just clarity. However, i still do not feel the need to explain myself to my colleagues for some obvious reasons but I chose to pen this down for tomorrow as I hope never to lose this part of me that seeks lucidity.

You know, this is me also encouraging you not to be coerced into someone you’re not … you know what I mean shaa, leadership is not for the weak so if you must take up that role be ready for this.

Bye
