I understand that some people don't even know what they want in life neither do they know how they want their life to turn out, but with time as they grow and experience life they will begin to realize the kind of life they wants and not just a mere dream of a child.

Our lives are determined to a very large extent by the environment we find ourselves in, our family background and upbringing matters a lot too. Therefore, we can have the biggest influence on how our lives turn out by what environment we expose ourselves to, the people we hang out with, how we spend our time, the people that speaks into our lives, the media we choose to reach out to etc.

Aside the point raised above, one can also

strive to create a plan for their future and actually work towards making it a reality. Looking back at your life and realized that none of the plans you’ve made actually turned out happening. You can determine how you want your life to be, you can visualize things, lay out a plan, and try to establish as much as possible all that you've dreamt of. However, the universe always has a way of coming back at you, if you don't back up your dreams with prayers or whatever you believe in.  My best bible verse: commit whatever you want to do unto the lord and he will establish your plans. Proverbs 3:16. No matter how much order you strive for, life will always throw stones at you so is not just all about making plans and working towards it.

I believe is all by God's grace to make that plan and to work diligently to achieve that plan, but when life hits you hard  rather than being depressed or try to kill yourself, learn to accept the things in which you can’t control and only focus on the things you can control.

Tips on how someone can determine the way their life turns out.

1. Put God first. You need to put God first in all that you do for him to plan and execute your plans in a way it will favour you and to his own glory.
2. Seek a coach or mentor. That would be somebody that you looks up to, or aspires to be. With the correct guidance, you can be able to be directed to the right path.
3. Read books or blogs. Receiving useful knowledge can also help to ignites the fire of discovering the new dreams, passion and calling.
4. Socialising with new people. You can be exposed to lots of people in different backgrounds and upbringing in multiple disciplines. Social media has made that easy for people around the world to get connected to one another without having to meet in person. The right people around you gives you more ideas and motivates you into achieving your dreams.
5. Learn and unlearn. Always learn to listen to people's advice and  consider them if worth doing. Learn and unlearn from someone's mistake and experiences to avoid facing the same obstacle.
6. Most importantly live by the Golden Rule.
7. Travel around the world. This is quite necessary but not compulsory if you really have the funds. Exploring new cultures, changing new environments, observing multiple lives (good and bad) will help in choosing what kind of life out there, you want to live.

In life there are so many uncertainties involved but it still does not stop us from living right or trying to make our lives better. This life is all about the choice and decisions we make now because that's part of the things that will affect our future sooner or later. Every action we take has a result which can be either positive or negative depending on what we did.
