Day Twenty Five: We Are All Involved, Including The Government

What’s up people, it’s your baby girl Consy Adione. Your one and only famous personal blogger in Nigeria whose works has spanned across countries and continents just to meet you.

Guess what? I wanna talk about something that resonates with me. Something that I have spoken about in my writings, fashion, beliefs and so on. If you you know me quite well, you will understand that cultural rebirth isn’t just new to me. I hosted my first event Anambra Rebirth for young poets and storytellers in 2023. A platform I created for preserving the nation's identity and fostering sustainable development. Hence, am still looking forward to sponsors and supporters who are willing to help build this great community to its peak. You can check out my media handles for more information or send me a Dm for further discussion.

In order words, I have been getting myself acquainted. So when a magazine reach out to me for a collaboration. Bro, I was thrilled to an extent. A lot crossed my mind, like it can only get better. One step at a time and we’re gonna get there.

Honestly, I don’t know how they came to know about me. Didn’t ask but I was convinced that my works are actually speaking for me…that’s my theory.

However, am gonna do what i know how best to do. Give my opinions to things that interest me. And hopefully, my cuties are ever ready to listen. Trust me to always start with an explanation…

Cultural Rebirth in Nigeria

Cultural rebirth means bringing back and promoting the traditions, customs, languages, and values that make Nigeria unique. It is about encouraging Nigerians to appreciate their culture instead of forgetting it.

Nigeria has many ethnic groups, such as the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Tiv, Efik, and many others. Each group has its own language, dressing style, food, music, dance, and festivals. Over the years, many people, especially young people, have started copying foreign cultures and paying less attention to Nigerian traditions. Cultural rebirth is an effort to change this by making people proud of their cultural heritage again.

Areas of Cultural Rebirth

1. Revival of Indigenous Languages

Many Nigerian languages are no longer spoken by younger generations. Cultural rebirth encourages people to learn and speak their native languages at home, in schools, and during community events.

Examples:

  • Speaking Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Efik, Tiv, and other local languages.

  • Teaching indigenous languages in schools.

  • Broadcasting radio and television programs in local languages.

2. Revival of Traditional Dressing

Nigerians are encouraged to wear traditional clothing more often, not just during ceremonies.

Examples:

  • Ankara

  • Aso Oke

  • Adire

  • Etireti

  • Isi Agu

  • Akwete fabric

Today, many fashion designers combine traditional fabrics with modern styles, making Nigerian fashion popular around the world.

3. Promotion of Traditional Music and Dance

Traditional music and dance are important parts of Nigerian culture. Cultural rebirth encourages young people to learn and perform them.

Examples:

  • Talking drums

  • Ekwe

  • Ogene music

  • Bata dance

  • Atilogwu dance

  • Swange dance

4. Preservation of Cultural Festivals

Festivals help people remember their history and celebrate their traditions.

Some famous Nigerian festivals include:

  • New Yam Festival (Igbo)

  • Osun-Osogbo Festival (Yoruba)

  • Argungu Fishing Festival (Kebbi)

  • Eyo Festival (Lagos)

  • Ofala Festival (Igbo)

These festivals also attract tourists from different parts of the world.

5. Promotion of Nigerian Arts and Crafts

Traditional crafts are encouraged so they do not disappear.

Examples include:

  • Pottery

  • Basket weaving

  • Bead making

  • Wood carving

  • Bronze casting

  • Leather works

6. Promotion of Nigerian Literature and Film

Nigerian writers, poets, and filmmakers tell stories about Nigerian culture and history.

For example:

  • Nollywood movies often showcase Nigerian traditions.

  • Nigerian authors write books that teach cultural values and history.

7. Protection of Historical Sites

Old buildings, museums, monuments, and palaces are preserved because they tell the story of Nigeria's past.

Examples include:

  • Museums

  • Ancient kingdoms

  • National monuments

  • Traditional rulers' palaces

Importance of Cultural Rebirth

Cultural rebirth is important because it:

  • Preserves Nigerian traditions for future generations.

  • Makes Nigerians proud of their identity.

  • Promotes unity among different ethnic groups.

  • Creates jobs through tourism, fashion, music, and arts.

  • Attracts visitors from other countries.

  • Supports local businesses and craftsmen.

  • Prevents Nigerian cultures from disappearing.

In conclusion, cultural rebirth in Nigeria is the effort to preserve and promote the country's rich traditions, languages, arts, festivals, and values. It encourages Nigerians to appreciate their cultural identity while embracing positive aspects of modernization. By preserving its cultural heritage, Nigeria can strengthen national unity, create economic opportunities, and pass its traditions on to future generations. The responsibility for sustaining this rebirth lies with the government, educational institutions, cultural organizations, communities, and individual citizens cause this is what makes us who we are.

Finally, am glad that we’re becoming aware of ourselves and reconnecting back to our roots. This reawakening of showcasing our culture and consciously learning to embrace our own is something that we should always fit into our daily lives.

But before I say my goodbyes to my lollipops, I would want to inform you that Til Magazine is open for submissions. They feature works that includes poems, short stories, web novels, flash fictions and articles (no academic/ text book writing style). Well, am always up for news that will be beneficial to my people so go check out their site for more details.

Day Twenty Four: Day light Robbery Isn’t Only For Criminals

Hi guys, welcome back to my personal blog. Your one and only baby girl in town is right here to chat with her cuties all over the world. What’s up my people, what’s popping? Guess what, today’s talk is coming with a story time. Yeah!!, don’t worry. Am excited on your behalf.

Ok, let’s get the ball rolling. If you’ve been following my blog for quite sometime, you would know that I once said, I went to a fashion school which I did graduate last month. However, I wasn’t happy about the whole graduation thing like WTF are people these inhumane when it comes to some certain things, like why?

First off, we paid a graduation fee of 50k which we later paid extra 10k and mine was 15k. According to her, the money she’s charging us was supposed to be for our graduation because the money we paid earlier wasn’t enough so whether we pay for late submission of assignment or not. Either ways we will to have to pay up to meet up for graduation.

That was the explanation that made us pay for the late submission of assignment. In total we were seven students, my graduation fee became 65k and 60k for those that paid 10k right? Now here’s the gist. My 65k was supposedly used to book a photographer and a medium sized room that’s less than 45k for seven people with a framed certificate, that’s all. Like I need someone to help me do the maths cause it’s not adding up in my own head… for her to say she cooked a plate of food for us from her pocket with no soft drink or water.

Bro am cooked, what the hell does she take us for… chickens of course. I was so mad that I didn’t want to talk about it, like not even a can water. Honestly, am still not happy about this whole situation thing because attending this graduation just to feel this way wasn’t part of my plan. I mean damage it cost me…I wasn’t meant to be available for the photo shoot basically because of a dress but on a second thought I felt I could handle it and now am not proud of achieving any.

Ok, I don do photo shoot finish. Oya send me the copies of the shoot, that one has become a problem. Tomorrow will be making it one month after the shoot yet am still expecting. Funny enough, I have consoled myself that I have been scam so whether I get the pictures or not I won’t bother asking again.

For the record, am penning this down for future purposes and not because I what to drag anybody. Personally, am less bother about stuffs like cos it can be anybody right? Besides the Federal government is still owing me 15k for Industrial Training which someone else must’ve pocketed and forgotten about my existence like nothing happened right? But don’t overdo things in a way that’s obviously screaming scams. I don’t need anybody to tell me that this is day light robbery.

For reals, it’s all in plain sight that we all are part of the problem and not just the government itself. Let’s try and be considerate enough not to be too self centered. Well, it’s our choice to make at the end of day so do you baa?

Case closed

Day Twenty Three: Talk Is Cheap But Not Government Talk

Hi guys, I know you guys have really missed me. And am glad you guys do. The love is always dear to me cause you’ll are patient … no, I mean loyal to this baby girl. Like most time I take a break from blogging I test run it whenever am back by uploading an empty post to see if anyone is gonna check it and of course. You people keep clearing my doubts like WTF do I have.

Omo, it feels good to be back right? I know, you don’t have to blush on my behalf. I have got this… so let’s jump in to the talk we have for today.

I have heard a lot of people say, "talk is cheap"and is actually true right? But not exactly when it comes to the government. The way we say we have freedom of speech is actually not the way it seems when it comes to the law right? Which brings me to what I want to talk about today. Infact is more like a question to you guys, to know what you’ll think. What does gossip mean to you?

Cause at this point am kinda tired of people saying someone is gossiping them when am pretty sure everyone is gossiping themselves just like the way we’ll gossip the government in our various space.

Well let’s define gossip. According to vocabulary.com, Gossip is conversation that's light, informal, and usually about other people's business.  Meaning it can be true or a lie, either ways is still gossip when the person isn’t present. You gossiping depends on your intentions towards your conversation. Honestly, I think gossiping is an essential part of being human and you can’t take away that from us. You’ve got to express yourself, no matter matter. Pour out your feelings and lighten your chest. You just can’t run away from that… you just can’t, take it from me. Now, i understand one of my classmates that said she gossips with her full chest knowing quite well that everyone gossips.

Back then, it sounded funny to me cause I felt gossips is only for rumors and talking bad about people but thankfully, I know better now... so I don’t know about you.  For me, expression is the key when it comes to communication. If you can’t have opinions about things that concerns your wellbeing, I mean … why the hell do you have brains and mouth to talk.

My dear, don’t let anyone deceive you. We can’t stop expressing ourselves even when the government is involved. We must not fail to voice out our thoughts in a legalized manner to avoid "talk is cheap but not the government". Don’t say I didn’t tell you, whether is involving the government or not, talk is not that cheap oo. If you like go talk the one wey go put you for trouble, na you sabi.

Gossip for me is always about the intentions, what’s your motive for having that conversation? Is it tear down some else or for therapy sake. We all know ourselves better than others so we can only tell ourselves the truth. You know, that’s all.

Day Twenty Two: The Government Is Working Overtime In Delicate Decisions

What’s up people, it’s your baby girl Consy Adione. Back with another gist but this one na heartbreaking news coming from the south east.

Of course am an Igbo girl from Anambra living in Onitsha so this issue am about to discuss concerns me in every possible way. However, am not here to advise anyone or point fingers to whosoever is wrong. Not interested in any of those things, rather am I here to have a conversation about the current situation of my state as I let you know my thoughts on them.

First off, you need to go check out the story on the call off of Monday sit at home to be able to follow what am about say.

Mind you am not trying to be biased here, am only gonna drop my thoughts on this real quick. I know, and I understand that government is government. You can’t take away that authority they have over their citizens right? I get it, but when it comes to my country. I feel like is a little bit different if not more than they way we tend to paint it.

I mean, why on earth is the Anambra State government forcing people to risk their life for the economy when they’re not sure of security. Honestly, it sounds absurd cause this is democracy… but of course, This is Nigeria my country. What was I expecting, everything is for the good of people right? Even when it can cost a life baa?

Well what more can I say when we’ve been promised enough security personnels to guard us right? I hear you, we live to fight another day shaa.

Had to pour out my rage Cause WTF is all this mess.

Las las, we commit our lives into God’s hands.

Day Twenty One: Don’t Let The Devil Use You To Work Against Us

Hi guys, welcome to 2026 with a heart filled with love and joy to have witnessed this new year in good health. It’s been a ride with you guys and yes of course, we’re ready to go again this year. Happy new year to my cuties and cupcakes all over world. Let’s make this year better and more fun!!

Ok, am back again with another observation of mine that might become a nuisance if care is not taken. First, I would like to keep this post as short as possible so I don’t need to do too much talking. You know, you get what I mean right?

Quick one, I went to a fast food to get some stuffs with my parent but something caught my attention while at it. The first thing we got was pizza which we waited for… so I had the opportunity to go through the payment slip I was given. Guess what marveled me, the amount of tax added only to the pizza got me thinking.

Damn, 2026 just Dey start oo, yet some people are trying to strip off that excitement of making it … Honestly, I don’t know the average amount of tax that should be added per item but this was above one thousand which is usually not. Now am thinking, what happened? Is it actually the 2026 tax reform or was it an intentional act of taking more from us? Well, I don’t know. Either ways something needs to be done.

Day Twenty: You Can Do Something Isn’t Enough To Be Called Your Calling

Hi guys, your baby girl is back with another Ted talk for my cuties. Guess what, am gonna make this really quick. You know, breeze in breeze out kinda thing so let’s get to it.

Obviously, am gonna start with myself down to the experiences I’ve had so far. If you follow me on my socials media platforms you would know am a lady with many talents. However, I would love to explore all those talents of mine as I journey into this lifelong mission. And currently, am into writing(storytelling & Education), content creation(Blogging &Vlogging), Fashion designing (Business Marketing & Cultural lifestyle) and am yet to explore other interest of mine. So does it happen to some other people, trying out different aspects of their career due to interest or they want to make extra cash right?

Now, here’s the gist. I don’t have any problem with creating more streams of income for yourself, in fact I have been an advocate for having different sources of income since I started my career talk so making that move isn’t my problem, it means you’re keeping your reality check. Where the issues lie is the way you handle what you’re offering to the world or to your clients. The same way we complain about the government and the politicians for not delivering in their jobs neither are they holding on to their words. Is the same way we’re complaining about everybody’s business for coming short of expectations.

I believe criticism do help in curbing situations like this but now we’ve lost it. Most people don’t listen to their clients because they don’t want to take responsibility for their actions like not being specific or detailed in what they do. For example when you tell a woman who’s seeking to conceive that you’re selling a fertility product that can help her put to birth without explaining to her that this would work if both partner are fertile and not just her…

The same way it goes for someone who’s hosting an online class on how to write a book without being specific to their students that the class is strictly for writing and doesn’t involve creating book covers, publishing guidelines or sales pitches for a book, which goes on and on for whatever aspect involved in what you’re doing regardless.

Let’s all learn to grow. I believe that’s the least we can do for trying to explore or do things out of we need some extra cash cause WTF is all this rubbish. That you can do something doesn’t mean that’s your calling when you’re barely giving us the minimum and this is what differentiates someone who’s called to do the job or not.

Please let’s not make life more difficult than it’s already.

That’s all for now

Bye

Day Nineteen: Clarity Shouldn’t Be Underestimated In Any Leadership Position

Hi guys, your baby girl is back with another juicy gist for us. You know, what’s up what’s up people. It’s time to take you on a ride to have a peak on what’s popping in my life.

First, I want to give you a short story that relates to what am about to say. A colleague of mine was asking another colleague of mine if they are friends. Honestly, when I first heard the question from her. I laughed and felt how could she even think of asking that to someone she has been close to for  awhile. But she said, you’ll never know. She can be thinking they’re friends while the feeling isn’t mutual so she needed to be sure. Fine, I got the point and I was like. Yea, it’s true oo. You  fit Dey relationship with person May the person no Dey there with you.

That being said, clarity isn’t a bad thing at all no matter how stupid it may sound. It’s better saved than being lost especially for things that can’t be fixed if it happens to go bad. And I feel this goes to every aspect of our lives cause clarity will save you from a lot of troubles.

Honestly, I don’t know why people underestimate the power of communication cause this thing can mar or make you. If you pay attention to public figures you would notice that they don’t joke with PR in order not be misunderstood. So the end point is clarity, passing a message in a way that you can heard for what you actually meant right?

Now back to me, my colleagues find it funny sometimes when I ask questions. They feel I ask unnecessary questions like: you ask me to help you get something and I would be like: ok, this..( then repeat what I think I heard) so because of that it kinda affects every other question I ask whether unnecessary or not if you understand what I mean.

This got me thinking to know what the problem was…could it be because of my ear issues (find it difficult to hear sometimes) which I never told them. You know, it’s uncomfortable to always tell people about stuff like this and I don’t usually like to talk about it either. For me, having to ask questions like that is for confirmatory purposes and not just clarity. However, i still do not feel the need to explain myself to my colleagues for some obvious reasons but I chose to pen this down for tomorrow as I hope never to lose this part of me that seeks lucidity.

You know, this is me also encouraging you not to be coerced into someone you’re not … you know what I mean shaa, leadership is not for the weak so if you must take up that role be ready for this.

Day Eighteen:Everything Requires Structure, Including The Government.

Hi guys, my cuties and cupcakes. It’s been a long time coming trying to roundup my Thirty days rant Challenge yet we’re still way behind. My bad, I think my life is that boring to have a lot of drama revolving around societal issues. But guess what, I finally have a gist for us. Which means another day to rant about our daily lives in connection with our present government.

Drumrolls, let’s begin. I don’t know if I mentioned that I will be going for an upgrade class in a fashion school in Asaba. Well, I just did and this is where my story begins. A school was recommended by my sister because the owner was her schoolmate. We made some inquiries and went to see the place before registering. You know, not too far from Onitsha with limited number students. So I said, why not. Let’s try it and see how it goes. I packed my stuffs and traveled to Delta State accompanied by my parents.

However, I did ask for a prospectus or a scheme of work to know what the school offers and what am expected to put in via finances. But I was told that they don’t have one and was shown a handout with a list of what we’re supposed to learn for the duration of five months. Then I was like ok, how do I know the things I needed for the classes so I can get them. And I was told again, that the school will be providing me with a starter kit which means I don’t need to bother myself for materials for a start because the projects are later. So this was how we ended the conversation with other few things we talked about.

Now, this is where the problem lies. Barely one week into class I got another shock of my life… We’re starting our sewing practicals the next week. Like WTF is going on, am I lost or something. What happens to resuming practicals later like I was so pissed off to an extend that I complained to my colleagues while we went to market over the weekend to get the materials for the project. N:B we were given the starter kit oo but that’s not all we needed for the project.

Fortunately, they didn’t even find any issues with what am saying after narrating my story. They felt like am supposed to be prepared for anything. Besides didn’t I plan myself before thinking of going to a fashion school. In my mind, I was like is the school not supposed to have a plan for me to get my own plans straight. And this is the exact reason why I asked questions before hand to avoid unnecessary problems. You don’t know my financial capacities neither will I appreciate to be taken unawares without prior notice or explanation for any sort of change in action. But this is Nigeria right? Anything goes … no structure, no accountability and nobody is bothered anymore because we’re all getting use to the system so we no longer find it offensive when someone tramples on our rights.

In order words, we’re still the same citizens that will criticize and pinpoint the actions of our current politicians because it didn’t favour us and not because it’s wrong baa? Rather we make excuses for mistakes that doesn’t affect us. It’s alright, we’re the future leaders and this is how we’re going to make a change if we can’t take each position we find ourselves worth managing.

Moreover, I will keep saying this,"it all starts from you, us being a better person for the world to change.” There’s nothing leadership is going change if you aren’t prepared for it. We’re the government spoiling the government.

Case Closed 🤷🏽‍♀️

That’s all for now, see you in my next post.

Day Seventeen: Our Voices Should Be Heard Beyond The Media

Hi guys, what’s up what’s up people. How you doing, my cuties and cupcakes. It’s your baby girl Consy Constance Adione. Your one and only baby girl with so many talents attached to her name.

Guess what, I will be penning down my opinion concerning this controversial topic that’s extremely sensitive to a lot of people. Personally, I find it unrelatable simply because someone has paid the price so I didn’t get to feel much of the heat like the people of the the old and that alone won’t make me take this movement for granted regardless of my opinion.

Early this October I published a children’s book named The Greatest Gift that I dedicated to every child who lost a parent on the way and to the girls who fought their way through school. Which I also talked about raising awareness about the importance of equal opportunities for girls, girl’s health and their safety and protection. Funny enough, I happened to write this book to inspire people through words and creativity. Honestly, I would like my works to be beyond content creation and community engagement.

I believe there should be more to all these things we do, the message we pass across should be able to stand the test of time. I mean, when my name is mentioned you should know what that means because am out here transforming stories into impact. You know, when we put out any pieces together. We should be making things that are not easily trashed for continuity and history path, a rare gem which is what is bringing me for today’s talk, “feminism”.

This is the first time am openly discussing this and am convinced, feminism is a worldview that women are not inferior to their male counterparts. However there are responsibilities that are gender maximized regardless of both gender being able to get results. This is to say that we can’t undermine each gender roles in any given situation because we all matter. For example having your parents train you is different from having a single mom or dad train you but that doesn’t mean the child won’t turn out well. All am I saying is, there’s a gap for each parent to fill in there child’s life.

Speaking of feminism in today’s world, I feel a lot of narrative has been created to twist the actual meaning of this word. In order words, being tagged a feminist can mean the worst depending on how you’re being perceived right? But now, the reverse is the case. I feel like the word has been polluted enough for me to want to disassociate myself from it in terms of public discussion. Haven’t been a fan of being labeled a feminist neither am I interested in being called one but it won’t stop me from being myself or standing for what I believe to be the right thing to do.

Action speaks louder than voice when you voice aren’t heard so don’t just scream feminism online with a bad approach without actively doing nothing because you want to trend or desperately get the government to listen to you thereby spoiling the message built around this word," feminism ".

I believe being working to become an influential man or woman that sits at the table of where decisions are made should be the goal of every person that actively claims to be a feminist. Because being a feminist is not just by mouth, is by showing workings. You know, when you come out and say something worthwhile, people will listen and the same goes to office you want to lay a complaint to.

So please let’s stop all these online embarrassment that takes away the credibility of being a feminist. Quick one, am not saying you shouldn’t air your views online because it all starts from lending our voices right? My take is to do it responsibly without denting the image of the actual feminist pushing the movement forward.

Day Sixteen: Filing For Bankruptcy In Nigeria Should Be An Awareness Program

After a short break from journaling, I wish to welcome all of us back in one piece with this heartfelt rant. You know what I mean, we’re still on our Thirty days rant challenge which am about to start off again till we’re done.

Personally, I don’t like stress and I wouldn’t want to stress anybody either, so kisses to all my cuties all over world waiting patiently for us to resume where we stopped. I believe I have had enough and would like to tip you all on this.

Well, to an extent I have talked about this before and am about to shade more light to it since things are about to be more chaotic in 2026 on the bases of tax management. Honestly, I don’t know what’s really going on in the government house concerning this matter but am here to state my ordeal regarding this new development.

First off, am currently broke and jobless because I quit my work to build my brand and my business. On top of that, I will be attending a five months fashion program before I launch my new fashion project in 2026 plus my publishing business I managed to register as a business name in 2023 and still in the verge of planning to upgrade with little or no funds to push all of these if I manage to survive bankruptcy. Yet, everywhere on the media space is screaming new reform tax policy with a lot of reviews and ideas without bankruptcy or insolvency awareness attached to this new trend.

Yes, the economy is bad and a lot of people are struggling with one or two issues in terms of their finances aside personal problems with no relieve from government rather we’re being asked to walk on egg shells with this new tax reform bill considering how everyone is forced to speak out due to the severity of the situation. People are really scared of what will happen to their income especially small business owners and low income service workers using their personal savings account to run their day to day hustle.

So many questions has been flooded online regarding this matter and more are yet to come because I also have mine to ask. You know, we all have our fears so do we need clarity on them. But the major reason for this post is to create awareness for bankruptcy and insolvency in Nigeria for people like us that are struggling to meet up with living expenses. How do we survive this policy situation on tax for jobless and dependent business people who are unable to afford their bills.

Sincerely, I have less knowledge on how these things work but with the way things are going, a large number of people are about to enter into their Bankruptcy  era that’s if they aren’t now because of the rise in cost of living and managing a business. Omo, financial hardship is not a joke let alone being charged for tax evasion on top your struggles. However if you can’t afford to deal with unexpected major expenses better start now to seek for knowledge … Tax avoidance is another thing you should read about and brace yourself for 2026. You know, just saying in case. But if you have the right information regarding this things i mentioned, please do help us out in the comment section or tag me on your social media platforms.

Day Fifteen: The Government Is The People We Know …

First, happy Sunday to everyone. My cuties all over the world. Today I will be bringing you the good news of the Gospel straight from oven. This baked knowledge am about to share with you is strictly for your personal growth.

However, I would like to start with the golden rule,"do unto others what you would like them to do unto you ". In everything you do, always remember this quote. In your leadership, business and day to day relationships, keep having this rule in mind. Because this is what will guide you in making the right decisions for you and the people around you.

What are am I try? It all starts from you, from us then back to the system. If you’re good, you’re good for yourself and the people around you, same goes if you’re bad so talking about the government isn’t talking about some random machines and objects placed in a seat to occupy some title. No, they’re human beings like us who started just the way we’re. Individuals who came to serve and help us attain a certain height in terms of management. People who are destined to push our growth for a better tomorrow, right?

See, being human is all it takes to be an actual human being but people are losing that for some multiple reasons that birth from bad leadership. All these things started from little problems to a bigger one. The question is, how’re you managing your unit? The people under your care, from family to work place to the society, how are you handling your position? These are the things we ought to be mindful of in our daily endeavors to push the society forward. For little things that doesn’t matter do matter at the long run.

Kids are the future generation leaders and so is our duty to make them come right. Therefore, work on yourself to be able to give them the best. Remember, you can’t give what you don’t have and same goes to them.

Day Fourteen: How Did We Get To The Level Of Lawlessness

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, I don’t just write because I want to but I write because I need to if that makes more sense. I have been a personal blogger for years now and someone out there might think am not consistent considering the fact that I don’t show up everyday right? But guess what, I don’t have to if I don’t have a need to do that, and this is why is called personal blogging.

In as much as it is about the audience per say still is much more about me than the audience. Meaning it has to be something that revolves around me that’s relatable to my audience. You get? More like an online personal journal so it doesn’t always have to be about having content. The point is feeling comfortable to share my personal thoughts and experiences regardless of the subject isn’t something to joke with especially when it comes to matters of life.

Honestly, there are some things you pray you shouldn’t  experience at all let alone fighting if it’s your right or not. These things happen to us on a daily, people come online to rant about their experiences and stuff but nothing changes if not the awareness made, right? Example

Few days ago tax officers from AIRS came to the business area around my office to check for those that hasn’t paid though that wasn’t my problem anyways. They also came to my office to check ours and this was the burdensome thing about their job. How on earth will more than three officers storm an office to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of a medical facility by crowding someone’s space like the person committed a crime. On top of that, one was secretly trying to record us in the office for reasons we know nothing about after we clearly stated we pay through the medical association in our zone .

We did showed them the papers that says we’ve paid and they left. But here is the point am trying to make. Why the whole drama and disrupt of peace in people’s business who have clearly paid their dues? I mean … make it make sense, was all these necessary when your records are intact or are you guys trying to tell us something else we’re not seeing? You can’t possibly tell me your books aren’t up to date if you’re actually keeping tracking of money that comes in. Because I don’t understand why you can’t differentiate the businesses that has paid from the ones that hasn’t paid from your system before approaching innocent people to cause havoc to their well-being.

Please, something should be done about this matter. I don’t like it at all, indirect harassment from government isn’t a joke especially when arm forces are involved. This isn’t something that should be swept under the carpet, considering a lot to be at stake if we decide to turn a blind eye. In order words, accountability of public funds isn’t managed properly while the masses toil and sweat for another man’s careless pursuit. The government needs to step up and deal with this issue to avoid unnecessary loss of life or property due to negligence of duty.

Day Thirteen: Our Community Development Projects Are Dying Off

Honestly, I have been thinking of what to write next and nothing was coming forth. But i said to myself, this thirty day’s challenge mustn’t be only about the government if I want to finish it this year because it’s not only the government that’s our problem. We’re also our own problem and we shouldn’t neglect that, focusing only on the government. Besides it’s individuals like us that make up the government so why can’t we talk us.

This brings me to what I want to discuss today, community development service. What happens to we rise by lifting others we sing on social media? What happens to building communities that’s beneficial to everyone in the society and not just for a set of people. I don’t know what it means to be a philanthropist but after working on my first community project, I understood better.

Truth be told, It wasn’t easy for me but am glad that my determination was much higher than just having dreams. You know, I wouldn’t have gotten this far if it was only a mere thought of getting something out of this cause mehh, I was broken that period. The attitude and insult I got was enough to stop me left alone my unrecognized effort and resources from the government. But that didn’t stop me either, here I am. Working on my third edition for 2025 and I wouldn’t dare forget those that believed in me and gave me their support. My sponsors and every other individual that contributed to see this project come to life, I appreciate you all. But this is about the time to we go again for our school children. Be part of something that can change lives positively and you won’t regret supporting this initiative.

Actually am planning and hoping that this program will be bigger and better with your help if you find it interesting to push this project forward. So go check out our social media platforms @ Anambra Rebirth to view our previous programs of the year.

Below is a detailed summary of the project plan and the account details for funding this program.

Executive Summary

Project: Poetry Slam

Reading is the most ordinary task one can do that gives the greatest sense of satisfaction because is what almost everyone does on a daily basis even without noticing. You either read a message somewhere maybe on your phone or a bill board on the road, mail, newspaper, product content before buying, TV post, online post etc. Just to gain knowledge of what you're searching for and yes, am aware that what comes to peoples mind when reading is mentioned is a book which mustn't always be. Through reading and speaking of written words in form of poems, storytelling(prose) or drama which are the basic forms of literature is the least you can try achieving for a day because you will be a plus richer in knowledge than you were.

Adione Constance is a writer and lover of poetry, music and content creation among many other things. Personally, I was compelled to giving my service to humanity as a matter of building a creative space and a voice for self-empowerment in the state. In order words, providing a platform for every kind of person to express their feelings and experiences on issues as far reaching globally significant social and political problems. As a writer currently living in Anambra state, I observed that there are little or no communities that promote Art and literature generally in the state, which is the more reason why programs like this are needed to create awareness for like mind individuals.

The purest form of art is speaking and slam poetry is a reclaiming of the oral tradition of poetry and storytelling. According to Poetry Slam Inc, a poetry slam is the competitive art of performance poetry. It puts a dual emphasis on writing and performance encouraging poets to focus on what they're saying and how they're saying it. In Nigeria, the art began to gain popularity about five years ago. The poets and their audiences see slam poetry not only as a literary or performative art but also as a political stance, a means of livelihood and a medium of communication among people across the globe.

The growing popularity of performance poetry is a boost for mental wellbeing, improved public speaking skills, enhances memory and builds confidence on a personal level. Also as a genre of entertainment, writing poetry is a tool to increase the level of literacy in the country which is beneficial to encourage poetry slam clubs in schools among students for better learning. This project is a comprehensive package that will help in the development of our future generation both on an individual level and societal strength. Creating and maintaining platforms like this will help lay emphasis on conscious planning and training of our children which are the leaders of tomorrow. However, this project is basically aimed on correcting a common misconception our kids have about education and improving their overall performance both in school and out of school.

Anambra Rebirth is the first of its kind to be held among secondary school students and will also be recorded as the second poetry slam organized in Anambra state which I believe you would love to be part of this achievement.

Goals To Achieve

Providing a platform for voices to be heard

Incorporating young creatives into media and how best to maximize their true potentials.

Educating them on improved writing, performing and expressions of art which are benefits of creating poetry.

Writing poetry is beneficial on an intellectual and personal level which develops rhythm and enhances memory.

Learning to recite poems from memory which also promotes reading, vocabulary and communication Skills.

Opportunities to perform improves public speaking skills and presents the poems true meaning through the poet's performance.

This will focus on building confidence and inspiration to compete at a high level envisioning future beyond school.

To encourage poetry slam clubs in school among students for better learning.

Project Plan

This project is a day event that should involve maximum of two months online interactive class with mentors and students that will be ending with a cash prize, consolation prizes and a certificate of completion. We will love to focus more on secondary school children and other interested young creatives in media to be part of this program. Which the turn up for the event will also serve as a graduation ceremony that will include the audiences to be both teachers and parents available with other official guest to be present.

However, building this event to a reputable taste that promotes creative education and performance of poetry that engages communities is what we intend to make out of this. Therefore planning a memorable event is heavily dependent on the detailed statistics of activities to be done like date, time and perfect location etc. But these are prone to changes due to feasible situations that are yet to be considered in order to meet our expectations for this project.

Why Invest

Social media is also a business that has unlimited potential with a client base that can span across the world. This trend is unlikely to die soon, and new platforms are being released every year, making the possibilities for expansion limitless which is why people need to invest in it and maintain the growth that will most presumably, pay a lot later with consistency.

As a genre of entertainment, it's a tool to increase the level of literacy in the country.

A means of livelihood and a medium of communication among people across the globe.

A call for re-awakening of national consciousness to deliberately facilitate in the integration of the country's economy while thinking about the future as strategic investments to arts and Education as a whole.

Day Twelve: Dem Swear For Us Say We No Get Sense For Use

Omo, I totally forgot I was doing a challenge on my blog. Travelled to Lagos for a friend’s wedding and that has been on my mind for awhile. But thanks God everything went well, the wedding and trip so back safely to Onitsha where I reside to continue my life journey.

Abeg, I wan ask whether dem swear for us say we go get sense but we no go use our sense. Honestly, I don’t know what the problem is neither do I know who to blame for this nonchalant attitude that’s k*lling us back to back.

Anyways let’s go straight to the point, how we will plenty empty lands and still be lacking food. Why can’t the government truly invest in agriculture to reduce the cost of feeding in this country. At least, if na food we Dey see Dey chop everyday, we go Dey manage till things get better.

I don’t know how things work in the agricultural sector but I believe and I know that something can be done if they really want to get change in our economy. Also individuals in agricultural industries should help in creating awareness and support for young ones in the field.

Well that’s all I have to say for now, everything isn’t about infrastructure when a lot of people are dying of hunger. We survive to live another day and not we live to survive but we have been consistently living to survive without thinking about the future. Which is ultimately one of the problems we’re facing in this country.

Day Eleven: To Be A Nigerian Is Harder Than The Country Itself.

You think you’ve escaped this myth by leaving the country. Well done, don’t forget to tell us your story of how it started and how it ended if it has. Cause we need to stop all these rubbish to end the stereotypes and struggles. Nigerians this Nigerians that, a lot of stories on bad experience with being a Nigerian as a foreigner but that’s not even the main issue here.

If we can go to another country and struggle why are we also struggling in our country with stuffs that’s supposed to be made easy as a citizen. Like WTF will your fellow Nigerian stress you to the point of frustration, for something less of a problem. And the worse part of this, is the normalization of this madness which most times happens in government departments and offices.

For example, applying for anything under government parastatals. They go turn turn you like no tomorrow. Ordinary result collection for school or even applying for a job in any government facility. The way they go whine you ehh for little things just to collect extra cash is appalling. Everything na bribe or settlement for them misusing the small authority wey them get.

Imagine applying for passport normally no be visa oo by following due processes and know if the thing no go pass at least two months or more without connection. Like it’s that bad that everyone knows it Dey take time if you no grease palms. You know, fast lane or remain where you’re till it reach your turn has become the order of the day. Destroying poor people’s destinies because your own greed.

Well, what can I say when it has become a norm right? But we need to drop this shit cause it’s now too much. At least let’s tone it down and stop going over board with this express thing. If we wan go express we know the road to follow whether with Benz or legedisbenz, you get.

Enough with the hardship, we don try shaa. E no Dey easy to be a Nigerian and also live in Nigeria, ok. You get the point now baa?

Bye ✌️

Day Ten: We Need To Think About Ourselves For Once

Ok, I feel like I have been coming for the government for some days now. But today, I will be making this post for us the citizens.

Hi guys, my cuties all over the world. I see you, I see the support and energy of always coming back to see what I have. You know, that alone warms my heart and I will also appreciate it if you extend that to my other social media platforms especially my Facebook and YouTube. Go show me love guys, you know what I mean shaa. I actually need it to survive my content creation projects across boards.

Ok, I think it’s time to discuss why we’re here. Honestly, I don’t know how to start this conversation but I do know we need to do something about this. If every individual in the state makes it a constant duty not to dispose dirt in the drainage holes and systems. It will go a long way in making our society better. Right now, this is not government doing us this one oo, we’re.

Which one’s disposing waste bin on the road and in the gutters when is raining? Making the roads more disgusting with a stench smell steaming out of every corner of the city. The worse is blocking everywhere with dirt to cause overflow from the drainage down to the road in a way that puts people into a state of confusion. Where the roads stops and where the gutters start, a question you’ll have to ask yourself whenever you want to step out in the rain.

Now am begging, please we have to do better for ourselves, our kids and for our loved ones. You know. It’s a sad thing to hear that someone you love was carried away by overflowing water ways. It doesn’t make sense naa, especially when it can be avoided.

In addition, we need to also pass the message across to everyone both online and offline families. Please Let’s join hands together to keep our environment clean.

Bye for now.
