Book Review On How To Win Customers And Keep Them For Life By Michael Leboeuf, PHD.

Ohh my God, where do I start from. The good news or the bad news, I guess I should start from the way it happened but first of all, let me say hi to my cup cakes, my wonderful readers and listeners of my trash. Don't forget I love you all, thank you for sticking by me and happy new month guys.

Bad news comes first, am currently phoneless, broke and in debt of practically spoiling someone's phone (my brother) just yesterday. I swear, I feel very sad about this. Technically, am paying for two phone repairs when I don't have a dime, that's frustrating. Then comes the good news, I got a job offer as a receptionist in a medical laboratory which I started working today. Taa daa am now a working class lady gathering experience. In a bid to be efficient and be serious minded, I found a way to keep myself busy and also add value to my life while killing boredom since I don't have my phone to do that.

Finally, this brings us to the part where book review pops up in mind because my plan B turns out to be reading books of great importance and make good use of this opportunity to develop my intellectual abilities.

Book Review

Honestly speaking, I did gain a lot knowledge from reading this book. Am the upgraded version of myself now due to my plus one value added upstairs. I actually like this book because of it's practical examples of stories added to illustrate the in depth meaning of this book, but what I don't like is the fact that they did a lot of repetition in the book both in exact words or in different words but the same meaning. Never the less, this book is an asset for everyone in business especially for a sales person building his or her career.

My summary of the book

Make helping the customer the top priority in your job. The ultimate end is to create and keep customers. Someone once noted that business is a lot like tennis, those who don't serve well end up losing. The greatest customer you'll ever win is you. People are far more persuaded by the depth of your beliefs and emotions than any amount of logic or knowledge you posses. People are ruled by their emotions and emotions are contagious. Feelings are highly transferrable, those who know how to do it rule the world. Think, act and talk negatively and you'll attract negative results. Think, act and talk with enthusiasm and you'll attract positive results. In short, you won't always get what you want, but in the long run you'll get what you expect.
If you know what you're doing, love what you're doing and believe in what you're doing, you'll be totally sold on the products and services you offer. According to psychologist, a person is capable of experiencing the only four basic emotions: Glad, Sad, Mad, Scared. Customers buy only when they are feeling glad about you and your services. People spend money when they feel good. You consider asking for business only after you have taken the time to establish a relationship of mutual trust and believe that you can help the customer get what he wants. Customer retention is the best business strategy of them all. The secret to winning and keeping customers is to reward them.
The only two things people ever buy are good feelings and solutions to problems. It's not enough to give the customer excellent service result without making him aware of the great service he is getting. The five best ways to keep customers coming back are be reliable, credible, attractive, responsive and emphathic."Reliable care", keeps customers coming back

Tada!!! Baby girl, in her work place.

Honestly, I regret been raised in Nigeria sometimes tho am proud to be one. I really wish that in my next life, I would be a citizen of both Nigeria and United States of America. I have always loved that country for no reason in particular and it's has been my dream country so far. Back to my country, Nigeria has all the adjective you can think of  and most of all, this country na cruise and sometimes frustrating. This part is where my problem comes in.

https://travelwithcurrent.blogspot.com/2019/05/depression-writing-still-in-progress.html

I have been draining for days now into months. I am tensed over a lot of things that sickens me with depression. I feel like am drowning in a pool of my thoughts and it weakens me day by day. How long can it be? How far can I go? These past few years of my life made me realize my true self. My biggest problem is expression. I really need help but I keep trying on my own to deal with my fears. Surprisingly, this phobia is a lot more than I can handle but with God by side I can do it. I keep suffering this and no one seems to understand me. I feel sorry for myself whenever am tired of all this shit.

I have lost interest in a lot of this if not all because i seem not to have a choice tho am hopefully working on that. Not having a choice here doesn't necessarily mean not having plans rather making personal plans that doesn't have to be 85% of someone else consent. Just imagine a life where you can't actually say what you want and what you don't want. Am chioceless, scared and helpless at the same. I guess am all left with my thoughts, all in my head but keeping a journal helps, that's my own therapy.

I feel like my background and my personality aren't a match but I still have to live with that. Sincerely, am grateful for the woman I have become and owe this to my life experience. I love my family tho they did put me through this but they're my world and my muse. I believe that everything that happened to me is for a reason and that's what leading me to my purpose in life. Am truly a happy person not withstanding if you get to know me. Just like I said earlier expression is one of my problems and it has made me live an independent life. I practically finds it difficult to ask and sometimes when I manage to ask without getting any positive response, I tend to stop bothering or persuading the person at all. People might think it's my ego but it's not, that's just me anyways. That's why am bent on building myself because i don't have enough courage to ask, that's it.

                                                        ABSTRACT

Nigeria is among the countries with highest global burden of malaria, and nearly everybody is at risk of this disease. The study carried out was critically evaluated in the area between May and June 2021. To explore the effectiveness of the various home management practices among caregivers on malaria treatment relating it to the prevalence of malaria in Primary Health Care Center Amansea, Awka North LGA of Anambra State. Data was collected using structured interviewer administered questionnaire. Two hundred respondents consisting of both caregivers and their children were selected using systematic random sampling method. The parasitological technique used for the malaria test on children was Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT). Data were analyzed with SPSS version 25.0. The results of this study clearly indicates that the level of knowledge of mothers and caregivers about causes, symptoms and preventive measures of malaria is very high which shows that they are well informed and provided with guidelines on the early recognition of its signs and symptoms of malaria. Caregivers attitude concerning the use of preventive measures and home treatment is greatly influenced by a lot of reasons which high cost of hospital bills is found to be only 53.5% amongst many of them. .  However, quite a good number of caregivers sought appropriate treatment from doctors (43.0%) irrespective of their differences. The prevalence of malaria in the study area is 18.0% which is low and has a significant difference according to occupation. Mothers are usually the first to recognize the signs and symptoms of malaria because they are the ones who take care of their children at home. Therefore, home management practices among caregivers on malaria treatment is very important to ensure that the first line of treatment given by caregivers are appropriate.

                                              DISCUSSION

The effectiveness of home management of malaria depends upon early diagnosis, prompt and appropriate treatment; therefore, proper health education about this disease is crucial (Olayinka, 2017). The results of this study clearly indicates that the level of knowledge of mothers and caregivers about causes, symptoms and preventive measures of malaria is very high which shows that they are well informed and provided with guidelines on the early recognition of its signs and symptoms of malaria. This is expected, for the fact that majority of the respondents has basic education accompanied with programmes and special campaignes which helps to enlighten the caregivers. Therefore, this does justifies the fact that there is a significant difference between the characteristics and different levels of education among caregivers on the preferred mode of malaria treatment at home by level of education. Further, the present studies indicated that these practices are dependent on the educational status of the caregivers or mothers (Egbuche et al, 2011).

Caregivers attitude concerning the use of preventive measures and home treatment is greatly influenced by a lot of reasons which high cost of hospital bills is found to be only 53.5% amongst many of them. These reasons made mothers to resort to home management practices in treatment of malaria. In respect to these reasons, caregivers thereby sought for medical treatment in different places based on present concerns despite the good knowledge.  However, quite a good number of caregivers sought appropriate treatment from doctors (43.0%) irrespective of differences. Early treatment and appropriate use of health facilities for malaria treatment within 24hours of fever (80.0%) wasn’t poor either compared to caregivers who delay when seeking treatment and practice not using health facilities within 24 hours of the onset of fever. These behaviours of the caregivers could improve, it is necessary to improve awareness on the pattern of caregivers towards programmes and initiatives that target eradicating malaria (Manaf et al, 2017).

Nigeria has made remarkable progress in malaria control, with decline in prevalence from 42% in 2010 to 23% in 2018 (WHO, 2021). Treatment of malaria depends on many factors including disease severity, the species of malaria parasite causing the infection, and the part of the world in which the infection was acquired. The prevalence of malaria in the study area is 18.0% which is low and has a significant difference according to occupation. Awareness about malaria and appropriate preventive behavior for malaria influence appropriate health seeking behavior (Manaf et al, 2017). This study also reflects the reports in the past few years, recording reduction in malaria burden and death. Malaria remains a public health challenge. While Nigeria witnessed largest reduction in malaria death in 2019 (WHO, 2021). Home-based treatment is a simple and effective initiative that is revolutionizing the treatment of malaria in Nigeria and Africa, putting essential drugs and know-how into the hands of those who most need them – mothers and community based caregivers. To prevent malaria infection and promote malaria free zones, understanding the community’s knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward malaria control are essential.

                          CONCLUSION

This study explored the effectiveness of the home management practices among caregivers on malaria treatment in Primary Health Care Center Amansea, Awka North LGA. Mothers are usually the first to recognize the signs and symptoms of malaria because they are the ones who take care of their children at home. Therefore, home management practices among caregivers on malaria treatment is very important to ensure that the first line of treatment given by caregivers are appropriate. However, constant public enlightenment as a reminder for the implementation of proper guidelines of home management on malaria treatment is necessary. This aids to avoid harmful practices, decisions and actions that occur at home for effective malaria treatment. Also, simple and reliable diagnostic test kits as well as effective and appropriate drugs for malaria treatment should be made available for easy accessibility when needed

Literature Review (Seminar) On Home Management Practices Among Caregivers On Malaria Treatment.

Hi guys, finally did my Seminar defense and I thank God for his grace, love, favour, blessings and protection upon my life, for making this day come true.

This work is dedicated to God Almighty who saw me through, my family and friends for their love and unending support.

Abstract

Nigeria is among the countries with the highest global burden of malaria, and nearly everybody is at risk of this disease. Malaria is avoidable and curable, increased efforts are dramatically reducing the malaria burden globally. Adequately, community knowledge about malaria is crucial in order to improve malarial treatment, control and prevention by reducing exposure to the disease. Fever is the most common symptom of malaria. When a child has fever, parents or caregivers commonly treat them as if they were affected by malaria, whether right or wrong. Treatment of malaria depends on many factors including disease severity, the species of malaria parasite causing the infection, and the part of the world in which the infection was acquired.

Conclusion

Mothers are usually the first to recognize the signs and symptoms of malaria because they are the ones who take care of their children at home. Therefore, home management practices among caregivers on malaria treatment is very important to ensure that the first line of treatment given by caregivers are appropriate. However, constant public enlightenment as a reminder for the implementation of proper guidelines of home management on malaria treatment is necessary. This aids to avoid harmful practices, decisions and actions that occur at home for effective malaria treatment. Also, simple and reliable diagnostic test kits as well as effective and appropriate drugs for malaria treatment should be made available for easy accessibility when needed.

Sharing My New Year Knowledge And Motivation. Guess Who I Saw Today, Prof. Pat Utomi

Hi guys, it's your girl Constance aka consy adione all the way from Africa, Igbo beauty straight from Nigeria showing you love in the spirit of a new year.  Lol, I had to give myself a small grand entrance as an opening remark for my first writing of the year. Aww, it's been awhile and am sure you've missed me so do I. My lovely people far and near, I greet you all and officially wish you a happy new year and a new month indeed.

Ok, I think it's time to go straight to the point and talk about what we are here for based on topic. I will be sharing a few things I learned from the talk Prof. Pat Utomi gave to us in my hostel plus my own additional talk to you. Obviously, I will always share one or two, either my experience or my opinion so guys I will kick off with mine first.

As you do know, I find it interesting to at least attend talks, programs and seminars once in awhile to help build up my life in general (career, academics, businesses, love life, family relationships etc) which is why I also advice people to do same because it has helped me a lot in bringing me this far in life and yet shape me to woman I will become tomorrow.

When I travelled back to my hostel, it was announced that we will be having a guest that will be speaking to us this month and I was happy to hear that, anticipating for it because it's been awhile after the long journey of last year that came with series of drama (covid19, lockdown, ASUU strike, endsars etc). I felt it was a good way of starting our academic session to make sure we all set out on the right foot. I really appreciate the management for putting this together for us and the Arch bishop of Onitsha for having us at heart. It's indeed something am grateful to have enjoyed as a princess in HFYV.

Funny enough, I didn't even know who the guest speaker was then neither have I heard about him but it didn't stop me from anticipating, we all get to know someone in a day. He did said a lot of things accompanied with a few personal life experiences as an example but I want to point out one thing he said that got me "when you serve others you have a greater good coming back to you". He went on by saying that we are a gift to one another therefore life is all about service to humanity. This statement alone has a lot of indepth meaning attached to it for those that can actually view it from all perspectives. To tell you the truth, this can be applied generally  in all aspect of life. Take it or leave it, it as good as the Golden Rule. My dear, think about it and also put it in practice to see for yourself.

I want to relate this to my writing career but  first with his own illustration. He talked about entrepreneur relating it to this same statement. He was like, as an entrepreneur "what drives you, what is your goal" is it money or to solve a problem (render service). If it's money that means you're  likely to stop on the way and might end up not making that money but if it's to solve a problem you will notice that you will eventually make more money than you expected eg Bill gates.

Coming down to my own story which some of you must've read before on my writing career. It all started with the mindset of making money not necessarily because I love writing but to my greatest surprise I got engrossed with it and took it as part of my life. To add it all up, I wasn't even making any money from it not even now but I continued writing simply because my goal changed. I was encouraged the more to keep doing what I do because it will definitely pay off at the long run. I said to myself, one of the things I want to achieve in this life is to leave a legacy that speaks for me while am gone and I figured it out that writing is one of them if only I will do a good job at it. To me is not just about writing, it's way personal to me than writing that's why my articles are different from the rest. People might not understand it now but it makes a lot of sense to me and I value it much more than the money I initially set out to find, money come and goes but this is the wealth I have personally stamped on the sands of the earth and never to be wiped, my legacy.

As he went on to talk about live to pursue immortality, It occurred to me that some  people might be hearing this for the first time but this has been my earnest prayer since God knows when. Sincerely, it made me feel like I did set out at dawn which was the topic of his talk, it gave me a sense of  greatest in me that someday I will achieve that which I have set out to find in this adventurous life journey.

Brief Summary Of Prof. Pat Utomi's Talk To Holy Family Youth Village Amansea, Awka.

The important question you should ask your self is

-Why are you here?

"The best friends you meet in life are the friends you meet in the university".

When you serve others, you have a greater good coming back to you - Prof Pat Utomi.

-Ultimately, you've got to have a plan for your life

-Live to pursue immortality. After you die, you'll still be remembered- material (written or lived out words) and eternal (to see God) immortality.

Begin with the end in mind. Focus on where and what you want to be.

Character counts no matter what you have.

"When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost".

In character building, important things are 1. Consciousness in building character.

Entrepreneurship- conceiving and working with a vision that will change the world. Steps to entrepreneurship

1. Conceive a vision

2. Commercialise the vision

3. Institutionalise the vision s o that it will be alive when you're gone.

-Pay attention to solve problems in your zone. Be creative in thinking. Focus on serving people,  you will surely not loose. Earn immortality.

Hashtag phenomenal woman, what God cannot do does not exist. Put your trust in God and believe him for all your dreams to come. Commit your plans to God and he will establish them.
